It all begins with an idea. The thought you had of finally learning or mastering the Flute. Now we have the course in place for you to finally achieve your ambition.

What Do I Get When I Sign Up?

When you sign up to Dave Sheridan’s flute course you get unlimited access to all levels, classes, exercises and sessions. The course was designed using 25 years of teaching experience and structured to be accessible to any learner. The tunes that are taught throughout this course are a combination of well known session favourites as well as a number of lesser known hidden gems.

How Does It Work?

Complete Beginners - Anyone new to the flute should begin with Level 1, where Dave will take you through an introduction to the instrument, outline some basic techniques, and have you playing your first tune in no time.

Everyone Else - Anyone with any existing experience of playing the flute should begin with Level 2, where the stepping stones and foundations for the remainder of the course, will be covered. Level 2 will be the starting point for our musical ingredients - Cuts, rolls, triplets, taps, and more.

Members are instantly given access to the first 40 lessons or 3 levels on Dave’s course. Each level is made up of 12 teaching lessons, including live music ‘ABC notation’ to aid your learning. After completing each level you will then have an opportunity to demonstrate what you have just learned, by playing along with four session tunes. Overall, members will be greeted by the initial levels when they first enrol, and will then see one lesson per week added to their playlist, beginning on Sunday October 1st. This structure will aim to guide learners from their starting point to competent and confident performance standard in an enjoyable and accessible manner.

In addition, as your confidence grows, a collection of ‘Session Tunes’ have been created for subscribers. These are explained by CLICKING HERE.

  • Yes, simply email Dave directly on dave@tradmusic.ie or use the contact form on the homepage.

  • Yes, this course has many ingredients to help any flute player at whatever stage of their development. If you sign up to the course and feel after some time that you have got what you need, you can cancel your subscription at any stage.

  • Yes, once you are a member you have full access and can watch any lesson as many times as you like.

  • Yes, there is live ABC notation with each lesson. Throughout each level, Dave will encourage you to see if you can try to learn without music notation, however they are always on screen.

  • No, staff notation is not available for now. As there are so many different ways of learning and playing each tune, Dave felt it was more focused to use either ABC or staff notation but not both. If students feel that staff notation would be helpful, please send your request through to Dave (dave@tradmusic.ie) and he can notate tunes for you.

  • Yes, once you have your login details you can access lessons on any device.
